After attaining your PhD, the real work begins: getting published to secure a job. Having served on many hiring committees, I can tell you in all certainty that candidates who aren’t well-published have little chance of getting hired. That’s why we’ll help you do both—get published and get a job—through our editing, our association with numerous university presses and scholarly journals, our many invaluable links, and our priceless counsel, advice and encouragement.

Beverly Hutton, Ed.D. https://edit911.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/testimonial_julianne.jpg I am so pleased with the entire experience and process working with Edit 911. Thanks to you, my dissertation is now a book that will serve as an excellent and relevant resource to education professionals. You were able to take my dream and turn it into a reality. The staff was professional but friendly, confident but calming. They guaranteed my satisfaction without hesitation and I was sold. The turnaround time was great and the collaborative processes with the editor were wonderful. She’s phenomenal! I couldn’t have done it without her help, recommendations and expertise.

‘Publish or perish’ is no cliché

We can’t over-emphasize the crucial importance of your becoming a published scholar. No matter what your discipline or doctoral degree, you will publish or perish, as the old saying goes. It’s absolutely true:

  • One study determined that those PhDs who are unpublished suffer the fate of earning, on average, 25-40% less income throughout their entire professional career.
  • The same study found that those PhDs who convert their dissertations into published books find secure positions 1-3 months more quickly and at a 10-25% higher salary than those PhDs who don’t.
  • One more statistic is equally compelling: those PhDs with five or more publications to their credit are 5 times more likely to “achieve their financial and personal goals” than those PhDs who publish little or nothing.
