Current Analysis of the Environment

MHA FPX 5010 Assessment 1 This article assesses the directional strategy of a health organization, examines its external and internal environment and identifies the structural properties of the industry that affect the health care system. The selected organization for this evaluation is the Grace Medical Center, located in Baltimore, Maryland, created in 1919 (Kohan, 2019).

Directional Strategies

Directive strategies, integrated to organizational plan, depict their identity and ambition (Singh and Shah, 2018). The mission and vision of a hospital clarify their directional strategies, anchor its purpose and goals (Savue, 2014). Grace Medical Center promises to provide exemplary care, which is reflected in its assignment and vision statements (Kohan, 2019). S.P.I.R.I.T emphasizes the prospects of values, and emphasizes the organizational service, patients, integrity, respect, innovation and teamwork (Cohn, 2019). The strategic path includes innovative service extension and community participation (Savageeau, 2014).

External and Internal Environment

MHA FPX 5010 Assessment 1 Organizations work within the dynamic environment and require vigilance to internal and external factors (Thom, 2013). The internal environment includes cultural, employees and economic elements (Quain, 2018). The Grace Medical Center promotes a culture formed with its mission, making it clear through continuous reinforcement and training (Manian and Davis, 2018). However, challenges such as employee storage affect organizational efficiency (Heath, 2018). External, competition and geographical location effects as uncontrollable factors (Quen, 2018). Baltimore security problems affect the patient’s decisions and require strategic reactions (Fedeschun, 2020). In addition, competition in the health care system is over challenges that are run by costs, quality and technical integration (Pauly, 2019).

Competition

The debate on competition in the health care system persists with implications for the quality of the service and access (Goddard, 2015). Increasing pressure motivates hospitals to merge or innovate to remain relevant (Pauly, 2019).

Conclusion

Directive strategies guide health organizations against operational skills and development (Savagu, 2014). It is compulsory to succeed in coordinating strategies with internal and external environments (Thom, 2013). Therefore, active identity and management of environmental forces are required for informed decision -making (Quen, 2018).
